About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our clients growing team in either Vienna or Salzburg. You will play a key role in the planning, design, and supervision of geotechnical investigations and infrastructure projects, working on technically complex assignments across Austria and occasionally internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to take a leadership role in challenging infrastructure, tunnelling, hydropower, foundation, and slope stabilization projects, with a strong emphasis on soil mechanics and geotechnical design.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical investigations and site assessments for infrastructure, energy, and civil engineering projects

  • Apply advanced soil mechanics principles to support geotechnical design, stability assessments, and foundation engineering

  • Prepare detailed geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, and technical specifications

  • Perform geotechnical analyses (e.g., slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, earth pressure) using industry-standard software

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and review their work

  • Participate in project management tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with Austrian regulations and Eurocode standards


Your Profile

  • Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (MSc or Dipl.-Ing. preferred)

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in soil mechanics, ground behavior, and material testing

  • Strong background in foundation engineering, slope stability, ground improvement techniques

  • Proficiency with geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Geo5, or similar

  • Fluent in German (C1); English is a plus

  • Experience working on Austrian or DACH-region infrastructure or construction projects

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Austria
